Andhra Pradesh State Irrigation Development Corporation
Andhra Pradesh State Irrigation Development Corporation was established in 1974 as an autonomous corporation under the Government of Andhra Pradesh,with main objective to take up the on us to provide irrigation facilities to upland areas to uplift small and marginal farmers including SC’s and ST’s with the funds provided by the Government Institutions and beneficiaries etc.

The Regd. Office of the Corporation is located at Hyderabad i.e #8-2-674/2/B, Road No.13, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034. There are 6 Divisions and 2 Project offices located in the District head quarters and Major Towns. The corporation is having experienced technical and non technical staff for implementation of the Lift Irrigation (LI) Schemes.

As per the Government of Andhra Pradesh policy, APSIDC has been constructing and commissioning of LI Schemes having an ayacut of up to 10,000 acres, with the funds provided under State plan, RIDF and AIBP programmes by State Government, NABARD & Government of India.

As per the Government Instructions, all the LI Schemes after commissioning are being handed over to the Beneficiary Committees for their further operation and maintenance. The LI Schemes having HT supply are provided dedicated power lines to get 16 hours power supply so that the ayacut envisaged under the scheme is fully irrigated.

Up to 31st March 2015, APSIDC has commissioned 1124 LI Schemes under different programmes including 125 taken over LI Schemes from MI/NSP Departments creating irrigation potential of 6.79 lakh acres. During the year 2015-16, it is programmed to create an Irrigation potential of 0.32 lakh acres by commissioning 25 new LI Schemes and to stabilize 1.64 lakh acres by Revival/Rennovation of 193 LI Schemes.
